Decider Skills

We are teaching our pupils the Decider Life Skills which are winning strategies for mental health.  These strategies are often used in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.  There are 12 skills:

  1. STOPP
  2. It will pass
  3. Right Now
  4. Name the Emotion
  5. Opposite Action
  6. Fact or Opinion
  7. Self-care
  8. Values
  9. Listen
  10. RESPECT
  11. Crystal Clear
  12. Reflect

Pupils learn to recognise the physical signs in their body when they feel an emotion and deploy a Decider Skill to help them manage it appropriately.
